Jeantet advised Equinox Industries in the acquisition of Clear Channel France
Paris, 7 November 2023 – Jeantet advised Equinox Industries, industrial French holding, in the acquisition of Clear Channel France, the second largest advertising operator in France.
After several months of exclusive negotiations and an information and consultation process that culminated in a positive opinion from the works council of Clear Channel France (CCF), Equinox Industries, a French investment company, has announced the acquisition of the national operator, which employs 800 people and that generated a turnover of 245 million euros in 2022.
Like other subsidiaries of the American outdoor advertising group Clear Channel, CCF has been put up for sale as part of a strategic decision. The market challenger is once again 100% French, and regains its independence, resulting in agility and adaptability.
Through this transaction, Equinox intends to strengthen CCF’s position in the outdoor advertising market while tackling its transformation in a world that is going digital and taking care of its environment.
CCF is a player in the city and a media player on the street. With a print and digital offering covering all outdoor and indoor environments and all urban and extra-urban territories in France, CCF reaches 35 million consumers every week. CCF is a socially responsible company that makes sustainable development a hallmark of its growth and success, and acts to promote a more caring, fair and inclusive society.
The CCF teams will benefit from the expertise of the Equinox Industries team. With 25 years’ experience in private equity, the French holding company has built up solid expertise in B2B companies, in the acquisition of subsidiaries of major groups, and in advertising and digital marketing. In addition, Didier Quillot, the new Chairman of the Supervisory Board, with his 30 years’ experience in the media and advertising sectors, will be an invaluable asset in helping the operator to achieve its new objectives.
