Jeantet assists Swiss retail giant Migros in sale of French online bike retail business

The Swiss retailer Migros has sold its majority shareholding in the French Probikeshop, a major player in online retail of high-end bikes, which is mostly active in France, Italy, Spain and Portugal.

Probikeshop was acquired by the German Internetstores Holding GmbH, a company of the Austrian SIGNA group. SIGNA is the leading privately-owned real estate group in Austria and is currently developing its retail activities.

The completion of the transaction is subject to approval by the relevant competition authorities.

Jeantet assisted Migros in the transaction with Karl Hepp de Sevelinges, Partner, Michael Samol, Counsel, and Ruben Koslar, Associate (M&A). Karl Hepp de Sevelinges and his team have built a strong track record in advising German-speaking clients in their M&A operations in France, lastly advising the ProSiebenSat.1 media group in a joint venture with the French TF1.

Internetstores was advised in the transaction by the German boutique law firm Hennerkes, Kirchdörfer & Lorz (Michael Breyer) and by BMH Avocats (Antje Luke) with regard to French law aspects. CMS Francis Lefebvre (Emmanuel Faury) and Jakubowicz (Loïc Jeambrun) advised the minority shareholder.
