Jeantet opens an office in Moscow

 

This office, run by David Lasfargue, employs 15 people including 10 lawyers and legal experts.

Jeantet is strengthening its international presence and is now the most dynamic French law firm in Eastern Europe following the opening of its Kiev and Budapest offices in October 2015.

Jeantet now has a presence in 7 countries worldwide with more than 150 lawyers.

Paris, 12 May 2016 – Jeantet opens an office in Moscow and continues its expansion into Eastern Europe. This opening is a continuation of those of the Budapest and Kiev offices in October 2015.

David Lasfargue joins Jeantet as a Partner to run this new office. He has been responsible since 2001 for the Russian offices of Gide where he advised many international investors, from France in particular, during their establishment and operations in Russia and in the CIS. David Lasfargue is highly active in the business community (notably through his role as President of the Russian section of the French Foreign Trade Advisors), and is recognised as one of the top experts in his market.

The team, which is already operational, comprises some ten legal experts including two Counsels, Vladimir Comte (M&A-Corporate-Real Estate) and Maria Yadykina (Corporate & M&A), in addition to two senior legal experts, Stanislav Bondarenko (Competition & Litigation) and Ivetta Tchistiakova (Corporate, commercial & pharmaceutical).

The Moscow office boasts unique experience in the Russian legal and fiscal environment, as well as relations with the main ministries and federal agencies. Its French, English and Russian-speaking team is capable of assisting in both major investment projects and with most business law matters its clients encounter in the course of their activities.

Bio of David Lasfargue:

David Lasfargue, aged 45, Partner at Jeantet and Head of the Moscow office is a lawyer admitted to the Paris Bar. He holds a Business Law Master’s Degree (DJCE), a Postgraduate Diploma (DESS) in Business Law and Taxation, a Master’s Degree in Business Law and a Postgraduate Diploma (DEA) in History of Law and Institutions (Lyon III University).

David began his career at the Prague office of Gide in 1995, before joining the Economic Law department in Paris. In 2001, he was appointed head of Gide’s Moscow office and became Partner in 2006. He was a member of Gide’s Executive Committee from 2012 to 2015.

David Lasfargue is President of the Russian section of the French Foreign Trade Advisors, Secretary of the Board of Directors of the French-Russian Chamber of Commerce (CCIFR) and representative of the French business community in the AEB (Association of European Business). He is also a Knight of the French National Order of Merit.
