JeantetAssociés strengthens its Luxembourg office with four departments
– Press Release –
Paris, March 10th, 2015 – French law firm JeantetAssociés strengthens its Luxembourg office with four departments: Tax, Investment management, Bank lending and capital markets and Corporate.
The newly recomposed Luxembourg office will be led locally by Frédéric Dupont, in coordination with Philippe Portier.
JeantetAssociés’ move is driven by the need of locally led teams composed of recognized specialists, with complementary expertise and both international experience and strong local anchor. This new phase is driven by a tax, institutional investor, regulatory, capital markets and investment management focus.
Jeantet Associés is very attached to its “open architecture model”, confirming the wish for its Luxembourg office to operate on the same basis, benefiting from its own international networks.
Our teams are now structured in four main local departments, in addition to an existing cross border department between Paris, Geneva and Luxembourg:
The tax and institutional investor solutions department, led by Frédéric Dupont and comprising key experienced tax advisors Paul Potocki and Armand Guigma-Coquet, focuses on designing dedicated products for institutional investors, alternative fund solutions and advising on complex corporate and wealth tax planning. The team assists its clients throughout the entire transaction process as well as on post transactional monitoring, both from a direct and indirect tax perspective.
The investment management department, led by Jeannette Vaude-Perrin, with Céline Wilmet as key experienced advisor, covers the entire range of regulatory, contractual and transactional questions. Our experts are supported by the tax and transactional expertise of our firm.
The Bank lending and capital markets department, co-led by Sara Gerling in coordination with Frédéric Dupont, is particularly focusing on financing debt capital markets, securitisation, listings, trading, private and public offerings, as well as on dedicated product calibration for institutional investors.
The Corporate department, structured as a cross border department between Paris, Geneva and Luxembourg, is led by Philippe Portier (a member of the Paris, New York and Luxembourg Bars).
Further, the Paris-based Financial Institutions and Services department, led by Martine Samuelian (a member of the Paris and Luxembourg Bars) and Competition law department, with Thomas Picot (a member of the Paris and Luxembourg Bars) in particular, are regularly involved in Luxembourg and coordinate the activities of the foreign offices in their respective sectorial practice.
Commenting on the announcement, Jeantet Associés’ Global Managing Partner Philippe Portier said: “Luxembourg is one of the largest fund domicile jurisdictions as well as an important jurisdiction for dedicated acquisition and financing structures. Hence, this development represents a key development for clients and for the firm – knowing in addition my personal attachment to innovation within the alternative fund segment, in particular around atypical alternative asset niches, such as art, wine or collector items. It allows us to have a strong local based asset management and investment funds’ team, a strong tax department and bank lending and capital markets department, to follow our expansion of our international offering to clients and partners in these market-leading practices.”
Jeannette Vaude-Perrin, Sara Gerling and Frédéric Dupont added: “it is a unique opportunity for us and our teams to benefit from the right platform, on an open architecture basis, to continue to build upon our strengths and benefit from the longstanding reputation and technical expertise of the firm. We are delighted by the market reaction and strong support of the firm partners. This evolution completes perfectly our existing offering.”
