Jeantet takes on the criminal business world with the arrival of Philippe Bouchez El Ghozi

Paris, Thursday September 14, 2023, Jeantet is delighted to announce the arrival of Philippe Bouchez El Ghozi and his team as partners to strengthen the commercial litigation practice, and in particular the criminal business law, compliance and internal investigations practice. With this arrival, Jeantet now has 35 partners and intends to continue its growth.

This new arrival, continuing the firm’s strong growth over the past few years, aims to further diversify Jeantet’s offering and establish the firm as a full-service law firm with an exceptional strike force in the Paris marketplace and internationally.

Philippe Bouchez El Ghozi and his team are particularly strengthening the firm’s offering in criminal business law, compliance and internal investigations, to meet growing client demand for criminal risk prevention and management. The firm’s aim is to offer its clients, faced with increasing exposure to litigation, a preventive and reassuring response, backed up by a global approach specific to the firm, in order to address all the complex issues involved in their strategic businesses.

Philippe Bouchez El Ghozi will be in charge of developing the practice within the corporate litigation department. His cutting-edge expertise, acquired over more than 25 years of high-level activity in the fields of corporate criminal law, internal investigations, compliance and business litigation involving sensitive cases, will enable Jeantet to consolidate its position as a leading firm in complex cases with high strategic stakes, which require reconciling legal and judicial constraints with an economic, financial, social and media context.

Before joining Jeantet, Philippe was a partner for over 16 years in a recognized international law firm based in Paris. With extensive experience in criminal, commercial and civil jurisdictions, he is renowned for his effective management of critical situations, procedures and risk prevention measures.

Philippe Bouchez El Ghozi comments: “I’m delighted to be joining Jeantet’s strong momentum, in particular to strengthen the firm’s business criminal law, compliance and internal investigations practice. As this complex and strategic expertise lies at the crossroads of many other areas of law, which have already been successfully developed by Jeantet’s renowned multidisciplinary teams, we will be able to best serve our clients’ interests while upholding the values of independence, excellence, audacity and innovation”.

Xavier Pernot, partner in the Litigation-Arbitration-Mediation department, states: “With Philippe’s arrival, the Litigation-Arbitration-Mediation department has grown to 4 partners, and boasts an excellent multi-disciplinary and experienced team, regularly working for major French and international players. We are extremely pleased to welcome Philippe, who is a renowned practitioner whose recognized professionalism effectively complements and strengthens the scope of our expertise for the benefit of our clients, providing them with tailor-made support to meet the challenges of their litigation issues. Philippe will work closely with the other Jeantet teams, as will the rest of the department”.

For Karl Hepp de Sevelinges, co-managing partner – “Philippe is an excellent asset for Jeantet and his arrival reasserts our position as a full-service firm with first-class teams, thus enabling us to offer our clients one of the most comprehensive offerings on the market”.

Philippe Bouchez El Ghozi’s team will include senior associate Hortense Bethune and Julie Bermond.

Hortense Bethune joined Jeantet in 2020 and specializes in all areas of business criminal law relating to economic, industrial and financial crime, as well as compliance.
