JeantetAssociés advised CalPERS and Strategic Investment Group in a transaction involving the purchase of a minority stake in TOBAM, French portfolio fund.

JeantetAssociés has advised a joint venture between CalPERS, the largest US pension fund, and its investment adviser, Strategic Investment Group, in a transaction involving the purchase of a minority stake in TOBAM. TOBAM is a French portfolio fund that spun out of Lehman Brothers’ European asset management operation. Pursuant to French regulations this transaction was approved by the AMF.

Calpers will also invest $150m in an investment strategy managed by TOBAM.

The Jeantet team was composed of Yvon Dréano, Partner, Vincent Netter and Alexandre Schaff (Corporate-M&A department) and Olivier Angotti (Labor law department). The tax aspects have been handled by Arsène-Taxand (Franck Chaminade, Partner, and Vincent Carles).
