La Compagnie des Alpes is a major player in the sector of active leisure in Europe. It is present on 36 sites, including 15 ski resorts in the Alps (including Tignes, Val d'Isère, Les Arcs, La Plagne, Les Menuires, Méribel, Chamonix) and 21 amusement parks (including Parc Astérix, Grévin, Walibi...), in seven European coutries: France, Italy, Switzerland, the Netherlands, Belgium, Germany and the United-Kingdom. These sites hosted 23 million visitors in 2009 and generated a €576m consolidated turnover.
Compagnie des Alpes is listed on Eurolist by Euronext-Paris.
To carry out the acquisition, Compagnie des Alpes and its partners (Caisse des Dépôts et Consignations, Banque Populaire des Alpes and Caisse d'Epargne Rhône Alpes), grouped in a CDA-led consortium formed an ad hoc company, Deux-Alpes Invest. This acquisition was financed solely by equity without any external debt.
La Compagnies des Alpes was advised by JeantetAssocies' corporate team, including Philippe Portier (partner) and Marie-Emmanuelles Amphoux, with Marianne Chevallier, Carole Guyot and Guillaume Fornier. Ernst & Young advised on the tax and financial due diligence. The sellers were advised by Ludovic Giraud, Notary, and Cendrine Mathieu from Notaires Conseils Associés (Meylan, Isère) and, on the financial aspects by BNP Paribas, with Alexandre Brault and Jean-Marie Doucet.
